Setting up a Time Clock Kiosk

Time clock kiosks can be used by your employees to clock in and clock out of ExponentHR. To activate a new computer terminal as a time clock kiosk, or reset a terminal for Kiosk use, you must first be connected to the desired computer terminal.

One of your departments does not have access to enough computers to make using the Time Clock Reporting in ExponentHR time effective for everyday use. Therefore, the manager has requested that employees use the time kiosk for daily time punches. You may activate designated computers for Kiosk use.
 

To set up a Time Clock Kiosk:

1.   On the Management Navigation Menu, click Wage & Tax > Payroll Management > Time Clock KioskWage & Tax > Payroll Management > Time Clock Kiosk.

The Time Clock Kiosk SetupTime Clock Kiosk Setup page displays.

 

2.   From this page you may activate a new time clock kiosk, reset an existing kiosk, or delete an inactive kiosk.

Activating a New Time Clock KioskActivating a New Time Clock Kiosk

To activate a new Time Clock Kiosk terminal:

1.   Enter a unique computer name for the kiosk in the Computer NameComputer Name text box.

 

2.   Select the appropriate time zone for the kiosk from the Time ZoneTime Zone drop-down box.

 

3.   If necessary, check the Activate SpanishActivate Spanish checkbox to display essential buttons and messages in both English and Spanish.

 

4.   If necessary, check the Disable ExponentHR LoginDisable ExponentHR Login checkbox to prohibit employees from accessing their personal HR websites on the public kiosk system.

 

5.   After entering all information, click the Activate KioskActivate Kiosk link.

 

Result: The computer is added to the system as a new kiosk with the unique name you entered.

To reset a Time Clock Kiosk:

A kiosk can become inactive if the computer's cookies are lost, for example.

To reset a malfunctioning time clock kiosk already included in the kiosk list:

1.   Make any changes to the time clock kiosk as necessary (you may edit kiosk name, time zone, and other settings).

2.   Click the ResetReset link in the row of the Edit Active Kiosk Systems table corresponding to the time clock kiosk you wish to reset.

 

Result: The time clock kiosk is reset and should now function normally.

 

Deleting a Time Clock KioskDeleting a Time Clock Kiosk

To delete a Time Clock Kiosk:

If a computer is no longer being actively used as a Time Clock Kiosk, we strongly recommend that it be removed from service. To delete an inactive time clock kiosk:

 

Click the DeleteDelete link in the row of the Edit Active Kiosk Systems table corresponding to the time clock kiosk you want to delete.

 

Result: The time clock kiosk is deleted from the Edit Active Kiosk Systems table.

 

3.   After completing all changes to time clock kiosks as necessary, click the Save and Exit button.

Result: Your changes to time clock kiosks are saved, and the Payroll Management page displays.
