Initiating Onboarding

There are three ways that the onboarding process can be started for an individual:

 

Directly Within a New Hire, Re-Hire, or Consultant/Contractor Access  EAN

When the onboarding functionality has been activated for your organization, the General OptionsGeneral Options section of the eAction Notice (EAN) will present the user with the option to initiate onboarding.  This includes the ability to confirm the onboarding template to be used, preview the offer letter (if choosing to send), and designate the Onboarding Coordinator who will be in charge of the onboarding process of the individual.  This may also be done for multiple employees/contractors simultaneously through the Group EAN functionality.

 

From the Onboarding Dashboard

Upon accessing the Onboarding Dashboard, use the Onboard Employee drop-down list to initiate the onboarding process for a new hire, former employee, contractor, or even presently active employee(s).  For a new hire, re-hire, or contractor, the respective EAN will automatically be created upon selecting (providing the onboarding options in the General OptionsGeneral Options section of the EAN).  If selecting the Current Active Employee option, the selected employee(s) are notified of the newly assigned tasks that are to be completed as part of the post-hire onboarding process (ex. surveys, document uploading/acknowledgment, or acquiring e-signatures).   

 

System-Generated via ATS Web Services

When an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or similar service is used to attract and select candidates, a web services connection may be utilized to have the New Hire EAN (with onboarding capability) automatically created in the ExponentHR system.  To learn more about this feature, please contact the ExponentHR Services Team.
